All updates will now be featured on Poppy's diary as the babies have now all left for their new homes so mum poppy will keep you informed of their progress.
14th August 2005:
The kittens have had a week now and have all settled in really well, we’ve already had updates and some photo’s which will be appearing on the site soon
The house is very quiet but they have found wonderful homes and settled in really well, Ollie and Bailey are settling in well in Maulden with Steven and Kerry and Winston is living with David and Carrie in St Albans, where they will all be spoilt even more than they were here.
25th July 2005:
Well the weeks are clocking by at an amazing pace, it won’t be long until these little angels are leaving us for their new homes and again we’ll be sorry to see them go, we’ve been lucky again this year and found lovely homes for them all to go off too, we know they’ll be as loved as they are here.
They are into everything, they sleep on the bed, on top of the TV, little monkeys get everywhere, we’ve back to the vet for second vaccinations this week, the time has flown by, we’ve had some more new owner visits from Steven and Kerry, David, Carrie and Lucy, so they will all know their new owners well by the time they go off on their travels.
Sally babysat on Saturday night so that we could go to a birthday party and it seems that everyone had a good time while we were away, Sally especially liked having her toes bitten at 5.00 AM, Thanks Sally!
13th July 2005:
Kittens are still mad, they all seem to be coping well with the heat and are enjoying getting to spend an hour or so outside in the pen each day which is nice as they get some fresh air and we can have the doors open for a while, which is nice.
I’m off work this week, so it’s nice to have some time off with them and get in the sun, we were lucky enough to have Toly and Valentina back on Monday from www.photocat.co.uk and they took some wonderful photos again, thank you to Toly and Valentina for coming back, the results will be on the site soon. Kittens were all very well behaved, but I think Bailey and Evie stole the show, they just wouldn’t get off of the catwalk, Ollie and Winston managed to push them off to get in a few shots!
Claire came to visit on Tuesday and gave me a lovely birthday present of a Petz-a-porter carrier which has Daisypurr embroidered on it, Evie already thinks it’s hers and I have to keep telling her it’s mine, I’ve wanted one for ages, just can’t wait to use it now!
The time is now going very quickly, they had their first vaccinations last week and Claire and I micro chipped them yesterday, it won’t be long now before they are off to their new homes, it just goes too quickly, wish we could keep them for longer, especially as Daisy is finally getting used to them, Poppy adores her babies and I’m sure she’d like to keep them forever.
03rd July 2005:
We’ve had new owners to visit and wear the kittens out, can’t believe they will be nine weeks old on Tuesday and they’ll be going off for their first vaccinations, it all seems to have come along too quickly for my liking! They do all have lovely homes to go to though, we’ve now decided on names for the kittens, so I can post them off now and hope they all go through with the GCCF.
They all now love being upstairs as they have run of the house when we’re here and currently they like sleeping on the bed, although Winston is currently asleep on my feet, they are such cuddly babies.
All four of them like playing with Poppy, they run around chasing her and then she chases them, they’re pleased to have the kitty castle up, gives them lots of places to play and hide in, Poppy sleeps in the middle of it quite a lot though!
Weekly Weights:
Evie - Lilac Tortie Girl: 1067g
Bailey - Lilac Boy: 1024g
Ollie - Lilac Boy: 1042g
Winston - Lilac Boy: 1171g
2nd June 2005:
The kittens have now moved downstairs, Evie can scale the pen, so there is no point in using it anymore, once she manages something she then teaches the boys to do it too!
They’re as gorgeous as ever, all very much have their own personalities now and are getting big, all of them are loving having the run of the house, but they’ve not managed to work out the stairs yet, which is probably a good thing, Daisy’s still trying to avoid them but I’m sure she’ll get used to them eventually. They like sleeping on the sofa’s, I found Winston asleep on there on Monday morning and had all four asleep on them today. Bailey is a real softie and loves to be cuddled and Ollie is just the same, in fact they all love cuddles which is nice. The heats a bit much for us all, so they’ve not been eating as much as normal, but can’t complain we don’t get much sun!
Poppy is still playing super mum and does such a fantastic job, well done Poppy!
Weekly Weights:
Evie - Lilac Tortie Girl: 883g
Bailey - Lilac Boy: 809g
Ollie - Lilac Boy: 790g
Winston - Lilac Boy: 940g
12th June 2005:
It’s all going so fast, can’t believe how much they’re growing.
We’ve had more visitors this weekend, Siobhan and Kebba came to meet the babies, so had a nice visit, it’s hard to believe Archie, Bailey and Toby are 16 months old now.
They’ve been using their nice new scratcher that Siobhan and Kebba got them and climbing to the top of it to beat up the teddy!
The kittens are eating really well; in fact they eat just about everything that’s put in front of them which is good. They’ve been coming down stairs, Daisy is still not sure, just tries to stay up high at the moment, they like the girls scratching post and it didn’t take long for them to master climbing to the top of it.
They’re all looking really well, running around like little mad things but so affectionate, if you sit on the floor with them for long enough, they crawl on my lap to go to sleep.
Weekly Weights:
Evie - Lilac Tortie Girl: 579g
Bailey - Lilac Boy: 537g
Ollie - Lilac Boy: 546g
Winston - Lilac Boy: 650g
28th May 2005:
Another week gone already, the kittens are now running round and playing, they like biting things at the moment and climbing.
Titch and Evie started eating on Thursday, they had some scrambled egg followed by Ollie on Friday with some chicken and then Harry finally gave in and had some chicken today from my hand as he didn’t want it off the plate, once he got the taste for it he didn’t stop, including trying to eat my hand!
They are playing with each other and starting to play with their toys now, they like coming out of the pen to play and scratch the door to get out when you put them in, but they like sleeping in there, when they get tired they all go back in one by one to sleep.
Their personalities are coming out more now, Evie is turning into a little adventurer, she goes further than the others and loves having her tummy rubbed. Titch likes to sit and think about things and often has a thoughtful look on his face as he sits with a far away look on his face! Ollie is noisy and likes to let you know where he is and what he’s doing; he’s very affectionate, as are they all. Harry likes climbing on laps for cuddles and generally climbing, very sweet!
Weekly Weights
Evie - Lilac Tortie Girl: 478g
Titch - Lilac Boy: 454g
Ollie - Lilac Boy: 437g
Harry - Lilac Boy: 499g
22nd May 2005:
It’s amazing how time fly’s when you have kittens, they’re getting up on their legs now, they try to run and then fall over and shout, they can all sit up on their own now. Ollie looks at you when you walk in the room. They are all very cute and Evie has decided that she likes her name enough to keep it now. Titch is looking lovely, he’s got a very round head and I think Harry will capture the hearts of everyone that walks through the door, he has so far! They are all really lovely babies, it will be great once they’re running around, but for now we’re enjoying them just as they are.
Weights done on 21/05/05:
Evie - Lilac Tortie Girl: 361g
Titch - Lilac Boy: 335g
Ollie - Lilac Boy: 338g
Harry - Lilac Boy: 391g
9th May 2005:
We’ve given the kitten’s ‘for now’ names, they are going to be Titch (he was smaller than the others when he was born) and the other boys are Ollie and Harry, the girl is a lilac tortie and is trying out Evie for her name to see if she likes it, if she doesn’t we’ll try a different one, can’t keep calling them one, two, three and girl!
Evie is giving Poppy head aches, she keeps escaping from her, which Poppy’s none too pleased about, bless her. The boy’s don’t have their eyes open yet but Evie does.
Harry is very laid back, he sleeps through everything, being picked up, being washed, I’m surprised he can stay awake to suckle really. Titch is growing fast and is catching up with the others and Ollie is already making sure the other kittens are clean by washing them, caught him and Evie having a good washing session earlier, it’s amazing how quickly they do things, still spend ages watching them!
Evie - Lilac Tortie Girl: 221g
Titch - Lilac Boy: 190g
Ollie - Lilac Boy: 199g
Harry - Lilac Boy: 234g
8th May 2005
All is going well with the kittens, they’re all putting on weight. We have three lilac boys and a girl, who could be either lilac self or lilac tortie, not 100% on that one yet. The little girl already has her eyes open, they’ve been opening up since Friday but are now wide open and they have all lost their cords. Poppy is being a great mum as ever and is very happy to have babies to look after again.
3rd May 2005
Well the first entry to the kitten diary for this year has been a long time coming, but we’re pleased to announce the arrival of the 2005 Daisypurr kittens, from Poppy (Grand Champion Purrisimo Chantillylace) and Kiss (Kiss from Joufflu) a lovely lilac self boy.
Poppy had a long labour, losing her plug at 11.30 PM on Sunday, the first kitten was finally delivered at 9.37 AM this morning, weighing in at 93g, at 10.04 AM, kitten number two tipped the scales at 79g, closely followed at 10.35 AM by a 84g kitten three and kitten four arrived just after at 10.58 AM weighing in at 115g. All babies are either lilac or lilac tortie and we haven’t yet looked to see what sex they are, but will soon.
Poppy is totally devoted and a very proud mum, she did everything herself including cleaning them up and cutting cords (which is good because we were shattered lol!)
They are all gorgeous and doing well. I’m sure it won’t be long before they’re causing havoc, have been looking at them all day, what a good little time waster. Thanks Dee for letting us use the lovely Kiss, I hope he’s had a word in the girl fairy’s ear for me!
