Kitten Diaries Bramble New Owners

Diary 2006/07

We have just uploaded a new gallery with some video of the kittens and latest pics of the kittens.

Click Here to open the gallery. Note: May take a while to load as there is video in the page.

All of the 2006 kittens are now settled in their homes, Dora kept her name, Jack became Oscar, Hugo became Jasper and Alfie is now known as Clay.

24th January 2007:

Another busy week here, the babies have really got their personalities now, it’s lovely! As soon as I sit down in the room I get covered in a pile of kittens, they’re all very naughty and like chewing toes, cuddles, running riot, they don’t keep the pen tidy for more than 10 minutes!

Dora is amazingly laid back, she loves lying on her back to be cuddled and can’t wait to meet her new mum next weekend, I however am not looking forward to letting her go, she’s a normal Daisypurr naughty Tortie and I’m sure her new mum Emma doesn’t realise what she’s let herself in for!

Hugo runs round like a mad thing and then falls to sleep in his favorite place on my lap, he was having none of going back into the pen for bed time last night, and he decided spending the night asleep on my lap was a better idea!

Alfie is adorable again absolutely bonkers and thinks he’s a racing greyhound but he also loves his cuddles, he’s got a lovely little round head coming on now and I can actually tell the difference between him and Cupid which is a big improvement!

Last but not least is Jack, like his brothers and sister he’s sweet, gorgeous and mad but to be honest that’s the way I like Daisypurr babies, they are really lovely at the moment, it takes a while before they’re up and about but now they are it’s like permanent play time J

All of the babies are eating now, fish is the favorite, followed by chicken, they’ll eat scrambled egg but if I try to give them kitten food then I’m greeted with the ‘do you really expect us to eat that’ look! They’re now spending more time out of the kitten pen, still only supervised at the moment. They do have the run of the house when they’re out but they won’t cross the door frame out of the kitten room at the moment but I’m sure that won’t last long!

The girls are all doing well, Daisy’s still not keen on getting too close to the kittens but she’s got plenty of time to get used to them and I’m sure once they’ve decided they want to play with her she won’t have much choice lol!

Thanks to Sally for coming to babysit on Saturday night so that we could go and see Wicked in London, was a great show but I think Sally had her work cut out with the ‘hooligans’ as she described them, going from one kitten to six was a bit of a baptism of fire for her!

16th January 2007:

Well doesn’t time fly when you’ve got kittens?! We’ve had a lot happened since the last update, everyone has their eye’s open, they’re all up and around, Cupid managed to get himself out of the kitten pen this weekend and when I went in to check on them he was sat next to Poppy looking at me like butter wouldn’t melt! He’s gorgeous and such a lovely pale cream the photos really don’t do him justice.

We have Jack the Lilac Colourpointed boy, Alfie and Hugo the two Cream Colourpointed boys, Dora the Lilac Tortie girl, which means I didn’t get the Colourpointed girl that I was so keen to keep but I guess I’ve waited over five years for one now so a bit longer won’t hurt me!

They are really getting their own personalities now, all very cheeky but with their parents what could I really expect?! Evie really is a star mum, she loves them to bits and is very good, and she always makes sure she’s got to play fetch with me though but then Evie wouldn’t be Evie without playing that!

Poppy also loves spending some time with her Grandchildren, she gets in with them at every opportunity, there are some photo’s of them all together. It will be time to meet Aunty Daisy over the next couple of weeks.

They’re moving too quickly at the moment for me to get nice head shots of them, but as soon as I can get someone to hold them still for more than two seconds I’ll put some new ones on!

Bundle.

Kisses.

1st January 2007:

All has been well in the first week, Evie is a great mum and really loves her babies, the Lilac Tortie girl opened her eyes very early on boxing day (typical girl!) but by yesterday all of the kittens had their eye’s open, they’re getting around now and fighting when they eat.

Evie’s doing really well, for the first day she wouldn’t even leave the bed to eat her dinner so she had to be fed in bed, but she’s actually coming out for a bit each day for a walk round.

Poppy met her Grandchildren in the week, Evie wanted to show them to her, all very sweet and Aunty Daisy has met them (from the other side of the kitten pen!) today, it will be great when they’re all up and around but for the moment they are lovely just as they are.

26th December 2006:

I’m pleased to announce the first Daisypurr litter of 2006, we have beautiful kittens from Champion Daisypurr Showmeheaven (Evie) and Purrisimo Plum McDuff (Duffy)

Evie’s first litter arrived on Christmas Eve (appropriate that?!) we have three Colourpointed (don’t know colours or sexes yet) and a Lilac Tortie girl.

Evie lost her ‘plug’ at 3.30 P.M, a Colourpointed kitten arrived at 4.30 weighing 103 grams, followed by another Colourpointed kitten at 4.44 weighing 104g, followed by (guess what?!) another Colourpointed kitten at  4.59 weighing 99g, followed by a Lilac Tortie girl at 5.19 weighing 90g.

The labour was very quick and she took it all in her stride, Evie was as calm as she always is and you would have never guessed it was her first time. She timed it perfectly so that I didn’t have to make dinner for family that were coming over lol.

Evie is a being a fantastic mum, not leaving them and attending to every squeak!
