Poppy's Diary 2005

22nd October 2005:

Congratulations to Siobhan, Kebba, Archie and Bailey on their new arrival, baby Kaydn was born on Friday 14th October, first photo’s arrived today and he’s lovely!

The girls are all doing well; they all get on very well together now. Evie is even more cuddly that poppy, which I didn’t think was possible, she has to be near you all the time, much to the disgust of Daisy and Poppy who both want their turns too!

1st October 2005:

Spent a lovely afternoon with Steven, Kerry, Ollie and Bailey today, both of the boys are looking lovely and are completely spoilt, just the way we like them! They have settled in really well and are very much at home. It’s really nice to see that we chose the right people to give new homes to the boys again this year, thanks for doing such a great job with them. Photos will be appearing soon. They have learnt how to get Steven and Kerry exactly where they want them and they tell me that they do their jobs very well!!

11th September 2005:

It’s been a while since the last update, Ollie, Bailey and Winston have all settled really well into their new homes and we’ve had photo’s which you can see throughout the site.

The house is quiet without them all bombing around, but they’ve made their new owners very happy. We’re looking forward to visiting Steven, Kerry, Ollie and Bailey in a couple of weeks.

Evie has settled in well here and Daisy is coming to terms with the fact that she’s now a permanent fixture and they are all playing together, Poppy and Evie are so close, it’s lovely to see them together.

Evie and Winston went to their first show and both had good days, most importantly they were both very laid back and enjoyed their outing. Thanks to Carrie and Jo for bringing Winston down, he looked lovely.

16th July 2005:

Daisy’s still spending lots of time in the garden, she loves it out there and is so happy to be out in the sun, she did have a run in with a bee this week though and the bee won, it stung her on the paw which swelled up to about twice the size it should be, after some piriton though she was fine and didn’t complain too much, she did get a little upset this week when the kittens squealed when they were being micro chipped and tried to smack me for hurting them, it’s normally her that’s smacking them!

Poppy’s still really enjoying the babies and they’re getting to spend a bit of time outside in the run each day which is nice for them, she’s still playing super mum and loves playing with them, it’s quite funny to see a line of them running up and downstairs together.

We had the pleasure of Toly and Valentina of www.photocat.co.uk visiting on Monday, it was lovely to see them and again they took some fantastic photo’s for us, they will appearing soon, Poppy was very keen to be in the photo’s and not let the babies steal the whole show.

8th May 2005

We have new arrivals in the nursery, four lovely kittens all doing well, but you can read more about them on their own diary in the nursery. Daisy is dying to see the new arrivals, but they’re a bit too small for visitors at the moment. Daisy is being more affectionate than ever bless her and Poppy is busying herself being super mum, she’s never to busy to come and see Daisy though and leaves the babies long enough to play with Daisy. The girls are looking forward to getting in the garden in the summer now the cat proofing is in place.

20th February 2005

I hope you like our new look, a big thank you to Debbie for all the time she has spent on the revamp, and the hard work that’s gone into it. I know I’ve driven her mad, but doesn’t it look great?! Thanks also to Toly and Valentina of www.photocat.co.uk for the lovely photos that we have used throughout the site.

11th February 2005

The first update of 2005, it’s been a long time! The girls are both doing well, both as naughty as ever, they have power struggles over the radiator bed and they love play fighting, Poppy runs behind Daisy and grabs her back legs to trip her up, who would have thought they are a Champion and a Grand Champion with that behaviour? They are best friends really, Daisy even lets Poppy wash her ears now.

We’ve had an updates on Archie and Bailey and Toby.

Archie and Bailey are being adored and spoilt as always by Siobhan and Kebba, we have some new photos of them on the gallery page. Bailey is enjoying the new computer, he thinks it’s there especially for him and is pleased with his new toy. Archie has been busy running around and trying to trip his mum and dad up, that boy will do anything for a cuddle! We’re looking forward to seeing them both soon.

Toby is doing really well and is being spoilt rotten, which is lovely to hear and he’s following in his mum’s footsteps by playing fetch and is keeping Fiona and Wayne well entertained, well done Toby, it’s nice to see he’s keeping up family traditions, as soon as we have some photo’s I will add them, so you can all see how the young man’s grown.

All three celebrated their first birthday this week, so Happy Birthday Boys.

When we decided we wanted to breed British Shorthair we started looking for a girl, we set out to get the best girl we could and went to look at many kittens in the process until we found the right girl, a year after the hunt began, Poppy was born and Dee let us have our foundation girl, which we are very grateful for.

We had already decided that we would like to specialise in the lilac series and incorporate chocolate too.
The next part was the hunt for a suitable stud,

We looked at a few nice boys, and then we went to meet Bart, who had the WOW factor down to a T, a cream boy who carries lilac which is perfect for what we want to achieve, he is very pale with fab eye colour and we’re really excited about being able to use him.

With Poppy and Bart we should have a wonderful start to our breeding programme.

Thank you Dee and Debbie.
